Laying eggs in the sand on the shore of Almaden Lake.

I could see the red stripe alongside its head, but the photo doesn't show it. The turtle wouldn't stick its head out far enough for a good shot.

(My 3-year-old granddaughter was the one who spotted it. She's petting its shell in these photos.)
