Notes:
Two Shenandoah Salamanders were found about a foot beneath the surface burrowed in a moist soil pocket in a talus zone. These sallies have wider stripes than the Shenandoah Sallies in my field guide, but I'm sure that they're not red-backs, because their bellies were all black with flecking only on the sides, whereas Red-backs have a "salt-and-pepper" pattern, not to mention the elevation of the find and the wavy stripe.
