Notes:
Nice little find in a small, picturesque trickle leading to a historic grist mill. A couple from Minnesota was photographing the mill and asked us what we were doing, so they got a spiel from both of us on Appalachia's salamander biodiversity (but seemed to enjoy it). The pictures are not stellar. This is a Blue Ridge based on maps from the Virginia Herp Society website indicating that Blue Ridge Red lives in Carroll, Grayson, SE Floyd, W Patrick, and SW Franklin counties while Northern is dominant in the rest of the state.
