One large Snapping Turtle observed wallowing lazily in the shallows of a muddy, open-water marsh. The turtle first appeared to shift back and forth with the meeting of the plastron and carapace visible upon my approach, then turned its back toward me and entered a slightly deeper section of the marsh, where only its shell was visible.
