Notes:
Was under a metal sheet (original position shown in photo 5). Was very active, although it did not move at first. tried to bite when I grabbed it and deficated almost immediately after I grabbed it. This is the largest alligator lizard I have ever seen. I included a shot of it with my hand for a sense of scale. My hand is just over 7 inches long, so the lizards snout to vent length was likely just over 6 inches. The weather was sunny and warm with some notable gusts of wind. The was a misty marine layer in the morning. It was mostly cloudy for the two days before, sunny three days before, and rainy and completely cloudy before that. The temperature under the metal sheet was 71.2 degrees F and the humidity was 65.3% RH.
