Notes:
Not entirely certain it was a Northern Ravine Salamander as it was found in northern Indiana, far outside its normal range. It was the closest I could find in my National Audubon Society Field Guide to Reptiles and Amphibians of North America as well as the internet in general. He (or she) was very calm. He was brown with gray speckles and had a lighter colored underside.
