Called to snake trapped in plant netting. Upon arrival found a Eastern Kingsnake entangled about 1/4 of body from head. Snake was cut free and given water to drink, and rinsed with water. Physical exam revealed a 32 inch, 13.8 ounce snake. The snake sustained injury to scales approx 1/4 of length distal of head. The injury was full circumference and swelling present. The injury did not fully penetrate the soft tissue. The snake was able to drink water without difficulty and good motion and symmetry of jaw alignment. Good range of motion throughout entire length of body, with only slightly diminished movement at injury site. Snake was released in area found on homeowners property.
