Notes:
Three wood frogs caught, several more seen. Northern Pike infested pond. I have read that introduced pike are negatively impacting wood frog populations in south central Alaska. This pond was the only one on the canoe trail where I saw frogs, despite many other areas of seemingly suitable habitat. One wood frog had a dilated eye on one side (head-on photo). I caught another at a different locality later this year that had the same feature.
