Notes:
This lizard (nicknamed Lizzy) appeared well inside the office on Friday. Estimated length about 9 inches including tail. I could not get close enough to measure.
None of the photos show head shape well, but I think Lizzy is female. Online pictures show examples of this common southern California lizard having more vibrant coloration, so perhaps Lizzy's lesser colors indicate female. Or can southern alligator lizards able to change their coloring? Haven't seen much on what they eat, but based on mouth size, I presume insects like crickets, cockroaches, ants, and perhaps arachnids.
