Hardwood (hickory and oaks) rocky granite outcroppings. High density of squirrels and rabbits. Farm land, hay fields and cattle. Snake was run over outstretched on roadway mid afternoon. Snake was measured 5 feet long, very heavy girth. At time snake was run over rattles were missing. Rare sighting of timber rattler in this vicinity. Healthy populations of rat snakes, king snakes, copperheads, and other common snakes. Sightings of diamondbacks and very rare pigmy rattlers.
