I really was thinking bog due to very brown shell, very dull spots (not visible with binoculars but visible in zoomed photo), prominence of orange earspot, and orange on rump. I should have recognized the light mouth, reduced ear spot, and size (not out of possible range but on the high side) as all being Spotted marks. Still crushed the joy out of me to notice the spots across the head in the photo. Tomorrow I'll be happy to have found a great and elusive species at the location.
